Atlantic Retail Construction (ARC) is the result of a coincidental meeting between 2 individuals in 1998. One having excellent management, and estimating skills combined with the other having jobsite management, owner relation skills and hands on expertise. After the first and only project together in a management/sub-contractor role we both realized how in fact a job could and always should be conducted. Since that initial business encounter we found ourselves coming back to one another wanting to know how this system could be improved. Unable to find another solution and tired of dealing with mediocrity, we formed a corporation with the organizational skills, on the job experience and personal eye for detail that have been lost in the quest for high profits.
Since forming ARC we have become even more confident that we are on the right track by receiving encouragement and blessings from some of retail’s most respected clients. We have also comprised our “short list” of the best superintendents and sub-contractors who are willing to join us as the opportunities arise. This has made us realize that we were not the only individuals having a difficult time understanding the bid-low and make-up in change order philosophy that now seems to be the norm throughout the retail construction industry.
In October of 2004 ARC divided into 2 different markets, one division concentrating on medical and industrial while the other remained concentrated on retail. Since that division, we have added more experienced personnel to our office and field staff to further concentrate on our bread and butter…which is retail. These additions have allowed us to broaden our client base and still keep jobs under close observation. Atlantic Retail experienced double growth from 2004 to 2005 and has continued steady growth even through the tough economic times of 2008.
